MP Moong Procurement Fraud: Traders Use Farmers' Quota to Sell Produce to Government

After Madhya Pradesh raised the moong procurement limit from 25% to 60%, traders exploited the policy by buying crop from small farmers at low rates ($\approx$ ₹6,000/quintal) and fraudulently reselling it to the government at the MSP of ₹8,768/quintal using those same farmers' registration quotas.An undercover sting across Vidisha, Narmadapuram, and Harda exposed a network of traders, surveyors, and warehouse owners taking bribes (₹500–₹1,000/quintal) to pass sub-standard produce, pocketing an illegal profit of ₹2,768 per quintal.
